Kroger Expands Rapid Antibody Testing To All Pharmacies This November
Kroger will be providing COVID-19 diagnostic tests to help inform patients if they have previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. They will be available at all Kroger pharmacies and clinics.
The EUA-authorized rapid antibody tests is the only CLIA waived test that uses a finger-prick blood sample (no nasal swab). They will be available to Kroger customers for $25 and typically provide results within 15 minutes. Individuals who believe they may have previously been infected with COVID-19 and are not currently experiencing symptoms are eligible for the test.
Kroger steps into the market as many labs are experienced a shortage of testing kits for SARS-CoV-2 virus. Antibody tests can be used to help patients determine whether the symptoms patients experienced were or COVID-19.
Making COVID-19 Testing More Accessible
Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health. “Making rapid antibody testing available across our family of pharmacies will not only provide an affordable and convenient testing solution for individuals who want to understand if they have previously been infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, but also help clinicians understand the long-term impacts of COVID-19 and potential public health strategies for fighting the disease.”
MEDformance is a wholesale distributor of the same FaStep rapid antibody test – please reach out if your organization, clinic or pharmacy would like more information.
