In spite of no known reinfections, the body of evidence is still small. Additionally, the time of immunity afforded by the IgM/IgG antibodies remains an unknown until longitudinal cohort studies tracking those exposed to the virus for signs of recurrent symptoms can be conducted.
“However, in the short-term, possible recurrences of infection can be identified by monitoring surveillance data and by requesting clinicians and public health authorities to report and investigate cases of possible recurrence to determine whether recurrence can be confirmed.”
